Welcome people to the Kampung Sg. Sireh, Tanjung Karang.
Where you leave your blues & worries behind. Come feel the tranquility & fresh oxygen for your craving lungs. Paddy fields for the eyesore. Smell the river, suck up the atmosphere.

Don't u ever fret,
The route is flat like a mat,
We guys took off like a jet,
Blazing across the galaxy like a comet.
As we sped to kingdom come,
Azli's got loose his crank-arm ,
A dime was removed so it'll do no harm,
All got confused & just kept mum.
Dried tapioca, then deep fried...yummy!
me, Rizal, Zul, Sham Dewa, Azli, Ayie & me.
We stopped by En. Tohil's beautiful house. Gave our salam & spied for the owner, nowhere in sight as we wanted to snap some photos. We were too busy posing like a playboy bunny when we hear makchik calling. With her wide grin, she persuaded us to come in & served us iced syrup & fresh fried "Rempeyek/Tempeyek". We too had a taste of boiled Sukun/Breadfruit. That was the first time we ever had Sukun rebus. Eating sukun with "Serinding/Beef Floss" was another adventure! Sukun is normally fried like bananas.
Sukun comes within the family of Moraceae called as Breadfruit. Its fruit is developed for the substitution of rice. Lots of carbo for cyclist like us. When cooked the taste is described as potato-like, or similar to fresh baked bread (Hence the name).
Besides carbohydrate, protein, and fat, breadfruit also contain vitamin B1, B2, and vitamin C, and also minerals (calcium, phosphorus, and ferrum/iron). Obstetrical of water in breadfruit is high enough, that is 69,3%.
It's native to the Malay Peninsula and Western Pacific islands. It has also been widely planted in tropical regions elsewhere. Throughout the Pacific Region, breadfruit leaves are used to cure diseases such as hepatitis, toothache, pruritis, magnification of spleen, heart, and kidney problems. Of course, further research needs to be done as traditional drug plants are usually consumed & trusted by locals.
